About Us – Sparks and Walk Companies Limited
Together for a Cleaner, Greener Tomorrow
At Sparks and Walk Companies Limited, we are not just a waste collection company—we are a movement, a purpose-driven organization determined to transform how waste is handled in Kenya. Our commitment to environmental conservation is at the heart of everything we do. Every bottle we collect, every cullet we recycle, and every community we educate brings us one step closer to a cleaner, more sustainable future.
We strongly believe that protecting the planet begins with responsible actions at the grassroots level. Waste doesn’t have to mean “the end”—in fact, it can mean a new beginning. That’s why we’ve dedicated ourselves to revolutionizing the way glass waste is treated. By focusing on recycling, reuse, and public awareness, we’re building a system that not only protects our natural environment but also uplifts communities and rewards participation.

Our Mission and Core Beliefs
At Sparks and Walk, our mission is to build a cleaner Kenya through sustainable glass waste management. We operate with the belief that sustainability isn’t just a trend—it’s a necessity. Climate change, pollution, and environmental degradation affect us all, and addressing them requires collective effort. We aim to be part of that solution by leading initiatives that reduce waste, promote recycling, and create environmental awareness across communities.
Our work centers around a simple but impactful concept: turning waste into value. Through organized collection of used glass bottles, proper cleaning, and responsible recycling, we divert thousands of glass pieces away from landfills each month. This reduces environmental damage, saves energy, and significantly lowers carbon emissions associated with manufacturing new glass products from raw materials.
What We Do
Our day-to-day operations are built around the collection and recycling of clear glass bottles, mainly sourced from consumers and businesses that use products from East African Breweries Limited (EABL). We also work closely with individuals and organizations that supply us with Lapil cullets—crushed clear glass used in manufacturing new bottles. These cullets are an essential part of the green production process, helping factories reduce raw material usage and the energy needed to produce new glass.
But what makes us different from traditional waste companies is our incentive model. We don’t just collect—we reward. Everyone who brings us their used glass bottles or Lapil cullets receives a reward. Whether you’re a small shopkeeper, a household, or a local bar, Sparks and Walk offers value in return for your environmental responsibility. It’s our way of creating a win-win system: you help keep the environment clean, and we appreciate your effort with tangible benefits.
Our Work with EABL and Lapil
One of our most significant collaborations is with East African Breweries Limited (EABL), a leading producer and distributor of alcoholic beverages in the region. Through this partnership, we collect used clear glass bottles from consumers and businesses that sell or consume EABL products. Instead of letting these bottles end up as waste, we give them a second life—carefully cleaning and preparing them for reuse or recycling in the manufacturing cycle.
In addition, we are actively involved in the collection of Lapil cullets, which are especially important in the glass recycling process. These small pieces of broken clear glass are used by manufacturers to produce new glass items more efficiently and with far less environmental impact. Our team ensures that these cullets are collected, sorted, and delivered to the right processing facilities. And yes—we reward generously for every delivery. This has encouraged more individuals and small businesses to get involved in the recycling chain, increasing the positive impact we can make.
Empowering the Community Through Recycling
One of our most important goals is to raise awareness about the importance of recycling and environmental protection. Many people don’t realize how much glass contributes to land pollution or how much energy it takes to make new glass. Through community outreach, education programs, and local engagement, we teach people the benefits of proper waste management and how their small actions can lead to big environmental wins.
By rewarding the public for turning in their used bottles and cullets, we are not only cleaning the environment—we are empowering people economically. The system is simple: don’t throw it away—bring it to us, and we’ll turn your waste into a reward. This has opened up new earning opportunities for women, youth, small traders, and even local bar owners who now see recycling not just as a responsibility, but as a way to boost their income while doing good.
Driving the Green Movement in Kenya
The green movement is growing across the globe—and Sparks and Walk is proud to be a leader of that movement here in Kenya. Every glass bottle collected is a step away from pollution and a step toward a healthier, more sustainable ecosystem. We’re reducing landfill waste, lowering emissions, conserving energy, and most importantly—creating environmental accountability at every level of society.
We see every person we engage with as a part of this movement. Whether you’re a student, a business owner, or a homeowner, your involvement makes a difference. The future of our environment is something we must build together—one bottle, one cullet, one decision at a time.
Looking Ahead
As Sparks and Walk continues to grow, we remain committed to innovation and impact. We’re working on advanced tracking systems to better manage our collection data, expanding our network of collection points across the country, and partnering with even more organizations to push the green agenda forward. We want to make recycling easy, accessible, and worthwhile for every Kenyan.
We believe that the power to create lasting environmental change doesn’t rest with big institutions alone—it rests with everyday people like you. And we’re here to guide, support, and reward that effort every step of the way.
